Ethernet cabling. This P802.3af (draft)-compliant inline power

power supply and extra wiring at the workspace. Installing Power
over Ethernet helps save time and money because it's less vulnerable
to damage or tampering than local power supplies.

with the proposed IEEE 802.3af specification for Power over

standard AC power into low-voltage DC that runs over your
existing LAN cabling
Enables
a network jack to forward power to a P802.3af-compliant
device
Network
jacks can also be powered with 3Com Ethernet Power Products
(3C10220, 3C10222) for 3Com
NBX® telephones; however, they cannot forward power
from NBX power sources
